I think we all knew the world would continue to turn without him, but I think we’re all a little surprised that it does.
It’s been ten years since the world lost Angus. In some ways, it feels like it’s been no time at all. His name still comes up in my contacts. I still think about how he would deal with a particular problem or ridicule a certain job. I wonder how he would be able to help me through the rough times I’ve been through, telling me not to worry, that I had nothing to complain about. At least I had a job, as limited as my skills may be.
For myself, I constantly wonder what he would think of the insanity in the world today. Not just the politics. But our business in this post-recession era seems like a wild, untamed world, and I think I wish Angus was here to tame it.
I feel constantly for his family he left behind – even as I see what accomplished women his girls have become. He would be so so proud. And we would all hear about it constantly.
We all miss him. I miss him. Ten years gone. But not at all forgotten.

A year has gone by and I miss Angus no less. The influence he has had on us all has been profound and I often wonder how he’d deal with a particular client request or a difficult local crew. He’d keep us smiling as he did something outrageous.
Never forgotten, but I think we all miss him a little more on the anniversary of losing him.

Sad that another year has passed — now that we’re (hopefully) out of the recession, I think Angus would have relaxed a little bit. Who am I kidding? He’d be wondering where the next high paying, if long hour, job would come from!
I was just watching the Apple Keynote, and I can only imagine the amount of crap I would have gotten from Angus. “Get back to work you lazy bastard! Are you getting paid by Apple? Then stop watching that!”
I think about the new work I have now, and which of my clients would love him, and which would love him even more. And maybe a couple who would ask for someone else!
He’s been gone now seven years, and so much has changed in the business, but the things he held dear — outstanding craftsmanship, hiring great people and working hard, are even more important today than ever.
I miss him still and forever.

Hey there,
Who is left I wonder ? Seems as though we are all slipping into the void where we will be with Angus soon. Bruce Burns crossed over this year. That was a big one. He loved Angus. Well friend, while we may not be together yet, I know the time is coming soon where we all will share a great laugh. Miss you.

I spent this year’s anniversary of Angus’ passing driving from Arkansas to Dallas. Packing a double travel day with some top-secret overtime as I was on turnaround from my last job. Angus would have been proud!
We talk about him all the time, and there are so many things I would love to talk TO him about. Is this recession over? Can we raise our rates $50? Why don’t they pay more per diem?
So many memories I think are as vibrant today as they ever were — he made such a strong mark on us all that he remains a strong force.
We miss you man.

Another year gone by without Angus, as always he’s still very much with us. There are so many things that come up at work where I wonder what he’d do. Charge more, of course. Make me laugh when I was trying to be serious. Act like a child when everyone else was trying to be adult.
I do worry how he’d react to these slow recession years. “What’s wrong with these people? Just having a slow economy is no reason to not put on huge shows with lots of overtime!”
I was in Orlando this week, had Sushi, thought of Angus. Saw the gang, thought of Angus. Overbilled, thought of Angus.

So here we are near the end of May and my fear was that this website might have disappeared. With the coming of June comes the remembrance from several years ago. Somehow this page comforts me. Just seeing Angus’s photo looking down is right. If anyone ever checks in to this page, please post so I know who you are. My thoughts for now is just what I may have to say in my yearly update.

I still think about him all the time. I’m in Orlando today. Going to Seasons 52. I’ll have a club soda in his honor.
Never forgotten. Always with us.

Angus is still as fresh in my mind as the day we met. I keep flashing him from time to time and I often temper my comments with a little sarcastic bite in a manner I think he might have tried to ease some of the tension of the moment. Of course I keep waiting for him to come right over the top with his contribution that would break me up and finish the discussion. Still love that boy.
